For the second time while looking for Bohemians I stumbled upon a large mixed
flock made up mostly of bushtits. At least 13, certainly many more.
This was along Robinson Pl. Where the road crosses the ditch and trail at
11:50am.
I also had a single Eastern Bluebird on the shore of the still
I had almost given up after my last message, but one more drive through
Gunbarrell turned up at least 8 Bohemians along White Rock Cir., just east of
the tennis court.
The Bohemians , robins, house finches and chickadees were eating from a
crabapple sandwiched between the building to the east
Folks,
I spent 3 hours at Cherry Creek checking out the gulls. There are several
large groups of gulls with possibly 400 - 500 birds total. FOY California
Gulls have arrived. I could not find the adult Glaucous Gull, but it certainly
could still be there. The 1st cycle Glaucous gull
At Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins (Larimer) today, I had a total of right
at 30 species. That is by far the best total of 2013. None of the birds seen
were particularly rare, but the place is always interesting.
Highlights include:
Merlin - my FOY, nice male prairie form, sitting in a
Brilliant birders,
A related question: what's a good, relatively, inexpensive tripod these
days I have an old hand-me-down camera tripod that doesn't work all that
well in birding situations (other than holding a scope relatively stable).

Hi all,
My father and I just stopped by Pueblo Mountain Park about 2 miles south-west
of Beulah to see if the Acorn Woodpecker was still there from last year. We
pulled into the Mountain Park Enviornmental Center. When you pull in, there is
one plainly dead pine tree. We saw two Acorn
Today Cathy Sheeter, David Dowell and I played Reservoir Roulette.
Little Jumbo was partially open, and had a few hundred white geese upon it.
Jumbo Jumbo Reservoir was mostly an ice cube, with about 5% of the water open,
mostly in the ne. corner. Entertainingly, they opened the reservoir for
10 matches
