I think CObirders and COBUSbirders will get a big kick out of this blog, as I
am. No matter how busy I am, I can never resist peeking at his latest adventure.
Take a look at his "Day 96" and then you'll find yourself backtracking through
his entries to see what else has happened to him (plenty!)
Yesterday morning while proceeding to work from Shields Osprey nest I saw
about 30-40 vultures ascending into thermals in and around Mountain-quite a
sight.

I have been in contact with a non-birder cyclist who about a week ago saw a
*possible* Greater Roadrunner near the Dakota Hogback (aka Dinosaur Ridge)
HawkWatch site. The description was weak, "brownish bird with a funny shape
like a roadrunner pecking at the rocks."
That's not much to go on, but
Coming back from Kearney, NB this past Sunday (500K Sandhills at least!),
we passed about a dozen Wild Turkey toms, standing next to Interstate 76 at
Ft. Morgan (Morgan County). A few had their tails up in full display.
Then, last night, Virginia Dionigi reported to the Foothills Audubon Bird

As has been reported before, the Peregrine Falcons have returned to Red Rocks
Park and are in full courtship mode. As in past years they are utilizing the
back side of Ship Rock (best viewed from the far west end of the Upper South
Parking Lot).

Colorado Birders Coen Dexter and Brenda Wright found and photographed this
species near Fort Sumner on the eastern plains of New Mexico. Colorado birders
should be watching for this bird, as it probably moving north.

I drove by the FC Turkey Vulture roost area this evening (8 April 2014)
about 6:45, saw 15-20 circling and landing in the trees on Mountain. A
block south on Washington, though...there had to be a hundred.
