Greetings All
I spent the day wandering around Montezuma County encountering about 90
species. The LUCY'S WARBLERS are back at Yellowjacket (someone else had 'em a
couple days before I). Two pairs, one right around the public/private border
and another pair about 100 meters into public territ
I saw the Northern Paula, first reported by Tyler Stuart this morning at Sinton
Lake, Colorado Springs, El Paso County, at 6 PM today in the brush and trees at
the northeast corner of the lake. There were also at least a couple of Audobon
Warblers present as well.

CObirders,
I spent an hour and a half walking the loop around Lowell Ponds today
hoping for a bunch of swallows and other FOS things I've seen reported
elsewhere this week. Literally the last birds I saw were 2 - Northern
Rough-winged Swallows! And that was it for swallows.

I found a male Black-and-White Warbler at Tempel Grove in NE Bent County
on the morning of April 15. It was in tall cedar trees close to the
granite memorial bench, and creeping along the trunks of the huge

COBirders,
I found a Northern Parula along the creek on the south side of Sinton Pond
at 9:10 this morning. I watched it for 10-15 minutes before it flew out of
sight. At 10:35 am, it reappeared about 50 meters east of where it was
first found. Linda Hodges and I tracked it at that point. Mark Pet

Looks like there was a bit of a Broad-winged Hawk flight yesterday, Monday,
April 14, through Boulder County.
I've already posted that Hannah and Andrew and I saw one over downtown
Boulder yesterday afternoon. Yesterday, just before sundown, Hannah and I
saw another at Greenlee
I saw my first Swainson's Hawk of the season up here this morning. Also,
Wilson's Snipe at Weld CR 84 marsh and Great Horned Owl/owlet(s) nest along
Hwy 14.

Saw the two FOS Chipping Sparrow posts today and thought I'd add mine to
the count. I've had a couple of Chipping Sparrows in my little townhouse
yard in west Centennial, near Holly & Arapahoe, for about a week now.
