Very rarely reported from El Paso County, a Least Tern was found by Richard
Bunn and Jan Allbright the morning of 6 May at Big Johnson Reservoir. Kara

Yesterday 5/5 the trio of wintering *Long-tailed Ducks* continued in the
Arapahoe County portion of South Platte Reservoir, off on the far north
side. The reservoir also had 1 *Common Loon* in Arapahoe and another in the

The House Wrens, which have been around since we started banding a little
over a week ago, decided to jump into action today. We banded 15, 5 of
which we caught a 2nd time before the morning was over. Otherwise a calm

You could hear Yellow Warblers singing as soon as you reached the
lot early today. I counted over a dozen overall. Further in were several
Warbling Vireos ,and a single Bullocks Oriole in good voice. A Common
Yellowthroat was noted by others. The marsh had two's of American Avocet,

I am writing once again to post an opportunity to participate in a Citizens
Science Project that involves recording migrating Mourning Warbler songs. I
am interested in whether different song populations of Mourning Warblers
(Western, Eastern, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland) migrate together or
FCAS is still looking to add teams for our Birdathon event. We are flexible
about the dates and we don't require any minimum fundraising level or

Yesterday, Rebecca Laroche reported seeing a male Common Poorwill in Denver
Botanic Gardens (Denver Co.). The bird was on the western side of the
Gardens, around the cactus gardens and grassland.
