A White-throated Sparrow was at feeder this AM in neighborhood just south of
Bear Creek Park in Colorado Springs.
I'll keep tabs to see if it continues for our CBC on Dec 15. (I put out extra
seed!).

I spent the morning birding around some local places in Littleton and western
ARA. I primarily explored places that I rarely visit or that were new to me. It
was all quite productive!

Let me start off by saying that the Gyrfalcon was not refound anywhere this
morning that I am aware of with people looking along Trilby Road and at the
landfill.
After thinking about it, I do not regret the 15 hour delay between
identifying and posting the Gyrfalcon to CObirds. I try to get the

As a new member to the group, I was surprised to see this thread take a turn
like this on my first day of following CoBirds. It’s one reason I’ve
unsubscribed from state-level Listserves in the past, and I guess this forum
isn’t free from criticism and sarcasm. That’s too
I was unable to find the Gyrfalcon today at 2:00pm at the landfill.
As far as I know no one else has seen it today either, but I have yet to
check Horsetooth Res. as Nick K. suggested.

locations with a select few in the birding community and not the public (but
for owls).
Sadly, at times I think the Colorado birding community used to be a “community”
and has turned more into a group of Birders
I was just watching an adult Nor Goshawk soaring in the afternoon sun over the
Plains portion of the Ken Caryl development, in this case south east of
Chatfield Ave x Ken Caryl Ave. A male, I think. A real treat.

The eBird daily report you got did not mention Gyr because it never should
at this point. eBird treats this as a "sensitive" species and it is blocked
from most output data. As an aside, it was accepted by reviewers rather

The eBird daily report I get did not even mention the GYRF, perhaps because
it is in review.
CObirds and eBird have different, overlapping and key roles.
If you use COBirds, please post to CObirds.
If you use the Colorado RBA, please post to CObirds.
