Gyrfalcon was perched on Trilby Rd. west of Taft Hill for quite some time
this afternoon and I'm expecting it will be hanging around for a little
while, hopefully long enough for Loveland CBC on Jan. 1st. Just before 2:00
it flew off to the south. Got several photos.

Hey Christian, are you sure it's not a ferruginous hawk? I was there just a
bit before you and the ferruginous was perching in the exact spot that you
are at. The feruginous hawk will sit in the same spot for a long time - the
gyrfalcon probably won't. Also the falcon is darkish and the

Around 10:45, Georgia Doyle and I arrived just in time to catch a view of the
Gyrfalcon as it flew from the landfill to a power pole on Trilby Rd just east
of Taft Hill Road. It perched there for a few minutes then flew off far to the
East, unfortunately. I can’t be certain but my feeling is

Chris Wood just sent me a photo of a Brant from the same location as the
PINK-FOOTED GOOSE. These rare geese need to wander to Union Reservoir
tomorrow, so they can be counted on the Longmont CBC, as these places
aren't in the circle, unfortunately.

How about another use?
Charge yours up and toss it in the car when you are on a (wild?) goose

That might be be helpful when you seek a gander at a goose.

I just had the Gyrfalcon on Trilby Rd. By the landfill. It flew in to the top
of one of the tall power poles & then chased some crows to the south where I
lost sight of it.
