We just had an immature male broad-tailed at our feeder at 4:50 pm. The
last one we saw before this was two days ago. We will be leaving the
feeder out for a couple more weeks probably, bringing it in only when it's
freezing. Hurry Spring! : )

We are still experiencing slow and sparrow-y days here in Grand Junction,
with 13 new birds and 8 recaptures. Fortunately today's birds included two
new species for the season - a Hermit Thrush and an Oregon Junco.

A great fall day, which we shared with the Tuesday Birders! We banded 66
new birds, with lots of the usual late fall species plus a rarity and a
super-rarity - A White-throated Sparrow and (ta-dah!) a PROTHONOTARY
WARBLER (the 3rd in 31 years). Here's the breakdown:

A female Prothonotary Warbler was banded this morning by Meredith McBurney at
the banding station. We also had a White-throated Sparrow!
