The Barr Lake SP birders also had a blue morph Ross's this morning along w/
3 Sandhill Cranes standing on the sand and 5 WF Geese near the banding
station. We had 5 species of goose.
The DFO trip leaders training group had a Common Loon and 2 LB Dowitchers.
There is also a rufous morph RT H

Vanderbilt Lake is an under-birded hotspot in the underbelly of Denver

Hi Everyone, I was up in Larimer County today 11/9. The continuing Long-tailed
Duck is still at North Poudre #4. The Bonaparte's Gulls appear to have left. I
got Horseshoe and Horsetooth mixed up, so I spent time at both lakes not seeing
a kittiwake. Horseshoe Lake, the one just west of Boyd Lak
My girlfriend spotted what she thought looked like a Ross’s Goose at Vanderbilt
Lake in Denver. I was able to stop by on my way home from work to find that it
was indeed a BLUE MORPH version of Ross’s which is kinda cool. Can be seen
well, mixed in with a large gaggle of cacklers on this little

The Gyr made an appearance this morning on the power poles along Trilby Road.
It just flew off to the SE, it’s whereabouts unknown.

After I saw and photo'd the YBLO, Ric Olson spent 45 mins trying to re-find it,
to no avail. Check you local pond.There is still a Common Loon and Barrow's

Nick Komar and I spotted a Black-legged Kittiwake at Horseshoe Reservoir in
Loveland this morning. It was resting on the water in the bay near Elm Court
but flew off with the Gull flock and we are not sure where it went.
