Hi all
Yesterday at Frederick Recreation Area I had three Ross's Goose and one
dark morph Snow Goose. Could not relocate Long-tailed Duck. At Windsor Lake
I had a Greater White-fronted Goose. Frederick, Windsor and Woods lake had
large open waters and many, many ducks and geese (five species) .

December 2019 Birds Woodland Park Yard Area and Beyond
Yard area was mostly devoid of birds from late November to late December,
presumably because of the wet year of 2019 that produced a lot of seed and
cone crops so there was a lot of natural food available. The "regulars"
started to retur

We just had a gentleman bring in photos of a Varied Thrush he has had at
his feeders in N Boulder over the past few days. He said there are 2 of
them.
I asked if it was OK to let birders know and he said yes. The feeders are
in the front yard and the bird(s) have been seen more in the mo
I checked in on this location around 3:12 PM and viewed briefly one male
Varied Thrush under the feeders. I didn't find a second bird, but was only
able to walk around the area for 15 minutes. The bird flew Northeast
towards a house with some tall spruce trees.
