In-case anyone is birding Pueblo tomorrow. Here is an update on what was
seen today. It may be breezy to windy tomorrow down here, before the next
cold front comes for Sunday.

Of course we've all seen Steller's Jays every single time we've set foot
into the foothills W of Denver. But, along with the influx of Juncos that
took me from FOS bird to FOS flock of a dozen, this past cold front also
brought me a Mountain Chickadee (4th or 5th time in 16 yrs here), and a
Hi Cobirds,
I stopped by Baseline Reservoir in Boulder this morning to see if any
scoters or loons had blown in. There were some biggish rafts of waterbirds
way offshore and hard to see clearly. Lots of Aechmophorus grebes (50-75,
all of them that I could see well enough were Western), lots of
COBirders,
There is a Surf Scoter at N. Poudre #4. You must view from the road as this
reservoir is closed to the public.
The Pacific Loon was still at Douglas Reservoir at the far north end along with
2 Bonaparte’s Gulls.
24 Sandhills Cranes are on the shore of N. Poudre #3 with 25 more
Cobirders,
The Field Sparrow was observed at 1:45 pm at CCSP associating with a loose
flock of other sparrows. It was found at the edge of the willows along the
shoreline about twenty yards before they end out on Pelican Point. About at the
spot where folks were cutting through the willows to
Well I have been at Blunn Reservoir since 10 this morning. I have just seen
“Chips” Red necked grebe. I am not mistaken as I was able to see it pretty
well with my scope. Too large and stout a bill to be a pied billed and
distinct face pattern of a red necked. There have been pied
Bird in Castlewood Canyon still present, down stream from where Myron

Good morning still (barely),
Sorry for the late report, but I found a Dunlin this morning around 8:30 am
at Lagerman Res. It was very cooperative on the NW side. 3
Chestnut-collared Longspurs also continued from a reported high of 10 or so
(I think) on the SW side of the res.
Good birding,
There are two Black Scoters (adult females) swimming together on the south end
of Union Reservoir.

Cobirders,
Photos obtained by others after my report of a Red-necked Grebe (RNGR)
yesterday show birds too small and with too small of a bill to be RNGR.
These 2 birds were seen and photographed from fairly close to shore on the
west side whereas my initial sighting was of 1 bird on the east side
Yesterday I found a Field Sparrow at the plum bush near the pelican point
parking area. It was moving fast yesterday and I lost track of it pretty
quickly.
This morning I found it in the exact same spot. And it seemed more content
