Most lariphiles agree some first cycle pale-headed gulls are challenging.
So much variation.
Can you you elaborate on those “checked boxes” you mention?

There are numerous Great Blue Herons on nests further south on Mackenzie
Rd. at the River. The Great Horned Owl is back on the nest along the

On my way to try and find the greater prairie chickens (which didn't
happen), I ran across 24 greater white-fronted geese, 120 snow geese, and
22 or so cackling geese in one of the farmer's fields on country road X
around 7:30 am. The cackling and greater white-fronted were mixed together

A blustery walk around Lagerman Reservoir today yielded about 20 Ruddy
Ducks, a couple of Cinnamon Teal, 3 Red-breasted Mergansers, about 6
Buffleheads, and about 20 Ring-necked Ducks. Both Osprey were present, as

Black Vulture
About 140 *Sandhill Cranes* were just circling over the area of St. Mary
Church along Prince Street in Littleton, moving north. It was great to see
(and hear!) them, as the local skies had been empty all day, despite nice
conditions.

Six people are seeing the Neotropic Cormorant at the Pueblo West Gravel
Pit, Pueblo County. Also, Long-tailed Duck and first year Lesser
