by magpies on 95th, just south of Oxford Rd. The bird was on a fence post

Folks- I got a call from Mike Freiberg who has been running a few grassland
transects for RMBO in S. Colorado. Of extra interest were 2 Broad-winged
Hawks, a Rose-breasted Grosbeak, and a Great Crested flycatcher on private
property along HWY 239 about 1mi east of Trinidad.

numerous Virginia Rails.
Still lots of bluebirds and a migrant Broad-winged Hawk amazingly lit
by the snow. Also had a low flyby of an immature Norhern Goshawk at
the Old Heron Overlook.

Folks- my mom & dad have a Male Vermilion Flycatcher in trees and
mullen stalks at Barr Lake Nature Center parking area, moving into
field to the east, catching moths. Nice first bird of the day waiting
for me when I arrived!
