Yesterday at Barr Lake, Dave Hill had 2 juv Sabine's Gulls and I had 1
adult. There were also 3 Lesser Black-Backed Gulls and lots of Franklin's.
Not a lot of passerines.

It's my understanding that the water level at chatfield is going to be at
that high level maybe, and I repeat maybe, 3 out of 10 years. That of
course means you're going to be walking much further to get to the water
for 70% of the time.

At this time of year there are usually hundreds of Western Grebes at Barr

This afternoon on the way back from Chicago, I stopped at Last Chance.
When I first arrived it appeared that migration was over, but then I found
a Northern Waterthrush followed by a quick look at a Mourning Warbler.
There was a Mockingbird across the street and then a Veery popped up in th
Bill et al,
I think this is a Summer Tanager mainly due to the bill and inconsistent
color from the crown to the tail. The wings don't look dark enough to be a
Scarlet.

The Neotropic cormorant was present until just before 2:45 p.m. it took
off, flew around for about 10 minutes and then disappeared. I didn't see it

I just had a Northern Shrike in my front yard. I pressed my luck to get a
better photo and it flew around the back of the house and I couldn't
relocate it.
Not even a new yard bird. Had one here sometime in the early 90's. I
wasn't keeping the best records then.

A short while ago we had a 1st yr Nashville Warbler in our front yard.
Also present was a Green-tailed Towhee, several Spotted Towhees and a late
singing House Wren with Lesser Goldfinches.
Yesterday we had a Plumbeous Vireo hang around for a couple of hours.

Today on my patio I had an Indigo Bunting. It was all dark blue and didn't
show any indication of being a hybrid. I'll post photos, if I can,

Bob, Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much we can do about thugs
breaking into locked vehicles except maybe aftermarket alarms with sirens,
and make sure you leave everything you are not going to carry with you at
home.

grounds in Lakewood, at about 3:30 pm today. The birds were near the USGS
