On my way home from RMBO training this morning, I found a Lucy's Warbler in
Rabbit Valley. I originally heard a warbler singing that I didn't recognize
(I am rusty on my warbler songs, so I cannot confirm whether it was a nearby
Virginia's or the Lucy's) and saw a warbler fly from the cott

I had a Summer Tanager at Highline Lake in Mesa County today, a state bird
for me. The bird is along the road on the west edge of the campground on the
west side of the lake.

Larry Arnold, Sean McKee and I saw a flock of 92 Common Loons at Highline
Lake
today around midday. This number may have increased since as numbers 89-92
flew in as I was driving out. The weather was poor but the birds were great.

I spotted a large gull at Fruita Monument High School's football field today
that I believe was a Lesser Black-backed Gull. I was able to get fairly
close to it from the parking lot and watch it fly and consort with the
ravens that were also there. Unfortunately, I was in a hurry so I didn
