On Monday Lake Loveland had a tightly knit group of 18 Cackling Geese on the
ground area around the Lake. The Lake was frozen over but many Canada Geese
and Ring-Billed Gulls were hanging out on the grassy area. Some Mallards were
resting in the shade of a tree - guess the sun was too hot
Lake Loveland had a few interesting birds late this afternoon, including:
Bonaparte's Gull - 60
Lesser Black-backed Gull - 1 adult
Common Loon - 2
Barrow's Goldeneye - 1 ad. male
Greater Scaup - 3 (2 males, 1 female)
American White Pelican - 8 lingering
