Just had a flock of redpolls and siskins land briefly in a tree in my
neighborhood, about 15-20 in total, mostly redpolls it sounded like. Filled the
feeders and hope they stick around!

Common redpolls are still hanging around the Horsetooth area west of Fort
Collins. had a flock of 10 on monday in the park, and two at my feeders today.
Cassin's finches are also daily now, all of a sudden, and Gray-headed Juncos
are back on territory in the park, singing their clumsy version
Just had three redpolls stop in the yard briefly while I was filling the
feeders. Didn't get a good look at them before they flew off but their calls
were distinctive, somewhat reminiscent of pine siskins. Hopefully they will
return.

Hi everyone,
Dave Leatherman informs me that the trees the redpolls were feeding in
yesterday 10/31 are Water Birches, not willows. Water Birches have dark to
reddish bark. Thanks for your passion for getting it right, as always.

While biking and birding to work today the Redpolls were still present at
the Museum in smaller numbers. I counted 12 individuals with one Hoary
candidate in the mix. I also heard some Bohemian Waxwings along the bike

Hi all the Redpolls are still present at the Museum. I have seen 3 good
candidates for Hoary Redpoll today.

This morning I hopped on my bike to run some errands and 3 blocks away I

Hi COBirders,
The redpoll flock continues at the Discovery Museum in Ft. Collins with over

there was an abundance of Redpolls. My rough count was at 104 individuals.

Hi all,
I went looking for redpolls in Kremmling today, hoping for a Hoary. All
the redpolls I saw were unmistakeably Commons. There were never more than
about 25 in one spot, but I suspect I may have seen 40-50 individuals
total. They were at the feeders at 911 Gore and 914 Eagle, right where

Hello COBIRDERS,
I have a small flock of (8 or so) Common Redpolls regulary visiting my

in it please) and observe the birds from there. Best
Today, we picked through the redpoll hoards at Discovery Museum with
multiple other birders. In the morning, we had a pretty good Hoary

cottonwoods for

Hi All,
Just a note of interest, 1978 was also a very good redpoll year. We had flocks
of 100 at Tamarack Ranch, 97 on Pawnee and several lesser sized flocks (25 or
fewer) scattered around the state. I looked back at my old American Birds and
there were very few on CBCs that winter

If you want some good Redpoll pics go to the feeders behind the Discovery

a couple weeks. This morning Cole and I had near 60 of them from around

Hi COBirders,
A pair of Common Redpolls arrived together for a brief visit at my thistle

They may be the same ones as yesterday (probably), although the male today
