LSSharedFIleList API deprecated

This may not be the appropriate list to ask, but I couldn’t think of any better place… Now that (as of El Capitan) complete LSSharedFileList API is deprecated, which API is one supposed to use to retrieve list of items (in “favorites”, “recent documents”, “recent servers”, “login items” etc…)

Hey all, I am being supplied a time (not day specific). Say "7:30 AM" - as a string. Could be PM. I need to make a slider with a range of 1 minute to 120 mins. Moving the slider adjusts the 7:30 AM display. So I am adding minutes to the display time. What's the best way to do this? I am using
