the database for logging? If not why did you define it in the jdbc
block in the xconf
file that way (as a logger)?

I did have trouble with J2DK1.4 ... so I backtracked to jdk1.3 + tomcat
4.0.1 + cocoon 2.0.1 and everything worked okay.
