Does anyone use Lynda.com for both patrons/students AND staff development? Do
you have both a pro account and a library account?
Thanks for your input!

We're voting on the content of the proposals given. I don't think anyone really
believes everything is set in stone for anything except that there are 2 very
dedicated groups willing to put on a conference in their respective cities.
There are probably more people voting for one or the other ba

Everyone has a different motivation on voting, and think we should keep that in
mind. Two years running on the west coast might be more than some can afford.

What more would be required than just putting a sheet of paper in front of the

I see your point, nothing is 100% effective. Especially anywhere more than 4 or
5 people gather. I would think the first year of implementation would be more
of a 'let everyone know' type deal. And the MC can also point out any changes
in policy (not just this one) during breaks.

My boss would like me to send this out to you guys. It's reposted in its
entirety below. I would like to mention that we have a particular interest in
public library responses, but academic ones are more than welcome as well.

Here's the link. This has moved quite a bit faster than I thought it would so
it may get modified at some point. I'm going to send it out again next week,
and we can move planning onto Google and off of the listserv.

Sounds like there's definitely enough interest.
I'm still in Raleigh, and will be until Sunday, so I'll start
planning/contacting people next week.
If you're willing to help out, drop me a line.

Having the conference in NC and seeing how many institutions sent people got me
to thinking we should create a regional group. Anyone from NC and/or SC want to
set up a regional meeting with me? It'll be fun. :)

It's honestly too late this year to change the entire scholarship system. I
don't disagree that it would be awesome to have scholarships for everyone who
has some sort of economic need, and this is a conversation that should be had.
But there's a lot that goes into opening something up based on
