Hi all,
Our community garden is on a residential piece of property and the city did not
rezone it to allow the garden. It is on city-owned property and they gave us a
license to garden in it and consider it a park. That way it is governed as a
park and falls under their park insurance

Another issue we expect to run into some day relates to composting. It is
not a permitted use anywhere. However, in our ordinances, a prohibited
activity is piling refuse. Somebody could complain about composting as
piling refuse, and the zoning folks would be required to cite the
offender.
Temptation seems to be succumbed to all over..
We planted flowers in our yard, along the street, in the yard of the firehouse

Two teenage girls from a couple blocks away yanked the ones they liked right

While I think talking directly with the girls is admirable, and often
preferred, I would make a report to the police. It would serve as a record
should the girls make good on their threat of returning to do more damage,
and two, it would allow the police to lend a bit of authority
The man from Moscow has it right - now that you know who the kids are and
where they live, it has to be impressed on them that the destruction of the
neighborhood's greenery is not to be tolerated. And the cops are the best way
to go
