Greetings, The chemicals WILL leach out of the wood, and while sealing it may slow it down, it will not prevent it from contaminating the immediate soil and that which is down-water/wind from it. I doubt that any of the commercial/home owner types sealing/painting compounds will be worth the time

I agree that pressure treated lumber is nasty stuff, but I was put in a position where a teacher with a school garden and a horticultural extension agent agreed that it was safe to use for vegetable gardening with kids. Since it was not my decision to make, I had to go along with the project using
