Panel utilities not shown on startup
I just updated OpenOffice.org and Compiz from lucid-proposed. It dit
NOT fix the bug. Strangely, OpenOffice now covers the lower panel, and
has the right size, but is shifted down so the upper panel is visible.
Previously, both panels were visible, and the full screen window was
correspondingly
not compatibile with kde 4.5.0 in kubuntu-ppa.

This happens every time on the second alt-space.
I don't think the crash dump contains personal data, and since the
apport retracing service appears to be non-functional right now, I'll go
ahead and make this public.
libappmenu seems to be implicated.

Disable compiz isn't a sensible workaround for this bug. Compiz offers
more than eye candy. Many new users wouldn't know how to replace it with
xfwm4 and would be stuck with metacity, so they'd be replacing a window
