Solutions:
* Fix bug #773587. The focused window must _always_ be on the current workspace.
* Parent windows should be able to have focus, but when focused any click or
keystroke will prompt it to transfer focus to the dialog.
* There should perhaps be an option to keep dialogs and their parent

Hi Jay,
Maybe somehow the changes didn't make it in time? all the reports for
this and related bugs were generated with Oneiric Alpha 3.

were done with Intel Corporation Core Processor Integrated Graphics

Hi Jay,
As with other systems exhibiting this problem, I retested this with the
Oneiric image from 20110823. Rather than the corruption as reported by
Jeff, on the external screen I see a black background and only the
panel, while the internal screen shows some ghosting of windows and is

Desired Solution:
- Sheet style dialogues will solve this issue when they land.
- In the meantime moving the parent window to a different workspace should also

To be able to minimise dialogs, bug #832301 will need to be fixed.
Otherwise, when the dialog is minimised the parent window will get focus
and immediately unminimise the dialog again.

The workaround offered by Colin in #137 worked for me, but it was not necesary
to take all the steps.
I have the Oxygen cursor theme installed via Synaptic (oxygen-cursor-theme

A possible workaround that might work for some was posted by Colin in Bug
#459647 comment #137.
I made only step 4 and a reboot and it sovled the problem.
But... this is only a workaround, not a permanent fix.

1) The release of Ubuntu you are using
I'm using Kubuntu Oneiric with all of the up to date packages.
2) Version:
compiz1:0.9.5.92+bzr2791-0ubuntu1
kdm 4:4.7.0-0ubuntu10
3) What I expected to happen:
Opening any panel
I caused Compiz to crash by opening the panel window, then going to the
KDE menu and selecting Leave - Shut down.
The system was unable to shutdown properly and compiz crashed trying to
close the panel.
