Multi-cycling of window sizes via grid was the single most important
compiz feature for me (and still is on computers with 10.04). It is so
much more convenient to press shortcut twice to get window in right 1/3
of the screen than to fight with mouse…

I confirm this bug, and have found that Unity 2D does work without

I see the same behavior -- Unity3d seems to start but all that happens
is a the background is drawn, and there are no panels, no launcher and
no desktop displayed. However, I do not find the DRI2SwapInterval
message anywhere. This was working properly last Wednesday (21 March)
but when I updated
I was able to reproduce the actual buggy behaviour and recorded a video of it.
Now normaly, pressing super doesn't open the dash. But, when I press ALT+F2 the
command window comes up. Pressing ESC and leaving it gives me the oportunity to
press Super - and it works. It works as long, until

Window management - Closing one window
Although bug 953089 is fixed, after closing a window, desktop hasn't
automatically focus, super-key and other shortcuts aren't recognized.
The initial issue remains also which is that it needs a left click on conky in
order to invoke shortcuts and achieve desktop focus.
