2007-10-06 Thread Randy
Okay, here's an admittedly strange question: Is it always inherently wrong, improper or maybe even illegal to register someone else's name as a domain name, particularly if they are a prominent person? By chance, discovered that a rather hot and prominent person (whose been on Oprah twice

What you are talking about used to be a common practice before the net world and made some people some money. Now the courts favor the individual or corporation whose name it is. It is called cyber squatting. It is not illegal, per se, but I would let the person know and possibly help them

I will check the cables again. I can deal with the possibility of my IDE cable having gone bad. Even if my U160 went bad, I do have a AHA-19320 and, corresponding cable. It is just not how, I would want to upgrade that card. Chris -- Original message -- From: Rev.

By chance, discovered that a rather hot and prominent person (whose been on Oprah twice fairly recently) actually does not have a website, at least not one that shows up on GoDaddy, using the name and .com or .net. There is a good chance that a cybersquatter has grabbed it as a consequence of

what your problem with godaddy? if you can't figure out how to get them to take your money, what is your problem? If you can't get there in 30 min, have your kid do it. you say they are bad, but what is wrong with them? At 08:15 PM 10/6/2007, you wrote: Well, was up more than half the night

Oh, I don't know; probably just seemed more difficult to construct a website (more so than the only other site I've created, which was on a network and probably more user friendly in some ways). Also, don't see a way to blog or to host the forums they mention. Thought these might be like

Not that I know of. It was $15 a year which is pretty standard. Rates went up this year. (We reupped before the increase.) Part of the benefit of registering with them is you get web space. Stewart At 08:39 PM 10/6/2007, you wrote: Thanks, I saw your post mentiong this and checked it
