That would be a tough act to follow, especially at this late date. At
least I know what to shoot for.
We got the 8GB so that should hold us for a bit.

Should I upgrade to iTunes 7.5 from iTunes 6.0.4? I've been happy with

I have a Mac running 10.4.11 and an iPod mini.

From my observance the IT/ management disconnect is created by both sides.
Management often expects IT miracles... too much from too little or too
inconsistent organizational IT support/ resources.
As a rule, IT people DO tend to be pointy headed specialists, prone to
their desire to solve us
If the car stereo takes a standard head phone jack then any cable will do.
You may have to look for a second gen nano. Some stores probably
still have them but I think the Apple store is pretty much all 3rd

This is all great information. I've narrowed it down to the 2nd Gen Nano
8GB which looks like it will do all that is needed. As far as
accessories go, where is the best place to get them? The Apple Store
offers the Belkin case online:

You aren't required to pick up the phone if I call you. But, if I telephone
you & leave a voicemail asking a question, professional etiquette requires some
type of response, whether it's "I'm sorry, I can't help you," or "I'm not the
person you need to be contacting. Contact ..."

It is true that all to often IT forgets that they exist to serve the
users, not the other way around.
Unfortunately all too often Senior management forgets that IT can add
to the bottom line, not just be a cost of doing business, and freezes
them out until too late in the process.

Many, if not most, IT folks are eclectic people. Most office workers
are not. IT folks often do not have anything other than work in

When we describe actual IT horrors they call it "anecdotal" and dismiss
it.
When we show survey results they make fun of "statistics."
I would say the bad guys are in deep, deep denial. They are severely
damaging their organizations and want to continue to
The thing I don't get is why some IT people are anti-social. We've had 5 IT
directors & assistants since I've been here, & only one went out of his way to
interact with the staff. The last IT director was so invisible, I gave up
contacting him, & went through his assistant, who at least had th

It could be, I've been meaning to do some rearranging of my phone
