Genie Backup Manager 8 is the recommended software from pc magazine
anyone have any comments on it, or some other program that:
1. does not do backup written to the sky(i want cd/dvd/tape in hand)
2. costs less than 100 bucks
3. does not do an image backup(i have Acronis and dislike

Tells me that I have to have Windows 2000 or later, so can't download, but I
have Windows XP. What's going on? Any ideas?

how do you save your old profile information so you can transfer them to the

In a few days AVG's free antivirus software will be defunct, requiring an
upgrade to a paid version. Are there any other free or low cost anti-virus
programs or is the paid AVG as good and comparably priced as any?

Please
AVG misleads it's free users every year or so into believing their
free product is being discontinued. It hasn't been yet, but it gets
harder and harder to _find_ the free one.

Are you using AVG 7.5 and getting that message? Because AVG came out
with 8.0 in April and many of us are using it and there is nothing on
their website about discontinuing the free version. Google free AVG to
get the free version. (They don't make it easy to find the free version
from their
