We had a 17" desktop replacement that seems to have died for good now
at only about 2 years. It also needed warranty work. But laptops in
general get so abused it's hard to draw any conclusions from one
experience.
It looks like a fine machine to me, though I'll also admit my
experiences with Vist

bought an Asus laptop for wife for kitchen use. bought it on price alone.
added some ram. still running fine after 2 years of hard use. it is not
transported, which is the real laptop killer. sits on a countertop covered in
flour, olive oil, etc.
when she was employed, she drug a laptop wi
