To bring it back on topic, Natal looks like it could
have quite a bit of latency
I'm not sure about that. I noticed a bit of latency in a few places, but not
everywhere. As I recall, the live demo at E3 in which the girl was batting
at balls with her hands and feet looked very responsive, but
Wii obviously has M$ terrified. Nintendo is making big bucks while M$
is investing big bucks, but losing money on the deal.
The question is whether the computer was responding to the movements
of the people or whether some well-rehearsed people were following
along with a pre-recorded
Aisha Tyler twittered that Natal was really cool after spending time using
it at E3. I know anyone who disagrees with Tom's World™ is an MS stooge but
I think the rest of us can agree Tyler isn't much of a stooge.

They don't release development kits for vaporware--but they have for Natal.

What part of development do you not understand.
No game is on the shelf for sale featuring this technology.
NONE!
The stuff I have been talking about is all in production and is on
the shelves or will be within the week. (Tiger Woods 10)
I do not doubt it has been sent out to developers,
No, he said they sent out developers units so game companies can code for
it.

You are starting to sound like Tom, I usually don't expect insults from you.
Calm down Rev..
You said you had seen much that was vaporware, my point was that it was
already in production, already in the pipeline. It's not been released yet,
but it will be. It's not a development tool, the

Each game platform seems to have it's endorsers and its detractors.

I did not see that in his note sorry. He seemed to be putting down
the Wii which has developed a pretty good set of games to the Xbox
which still has one in development.
Sometimes it is fun sometimes it is frustrating. The way that Cell
phone companies play games I get very frustrated. If

Rev, with all due respect. I linked to a demo at E3, where it was pretty
clear that this wasn't something you could buy today. I also referred to it
as Project Natal, which is not a

I've been looking at the Nokia N79 to replace my mobile phone and
camera. It has WiFi and GSM; the WiFi lets me use Skype, GSM for my

There are some combo smart phones that have GSM and CDMA, probably

I don't recall anyone saying Wii was better than Xbox? Cheaper than

A Wii is not made to be a gaming machine like a PS3.
The Wii is aimed more at families and at those who may no longer have
children around the house, while a PS3 is aimed at Gamers.

Yes, Tom was pretty emphatic about that. It didn't make much sense then, and
it makes no sense at all now.

It is called EA Sports Active.
Resembles (in my mind) Tai Bo a little. Lots of work and kinking and
action. Includes another attachment to monitor what you do.
Supposed to be pretty good.
Check out EA's site.

I think the Wii one can only assume you are 'running' because of your
movement on the footpad. The natal appears to be the Wii for full body, not
just hands and feet. It's a full body motion sensing system.

You have to remember this does not use the Balance Board from Wii

The running game on the Wii Fit doesn't use the balance board
either. It uses the motion sensor in the remote. You put the
remote in a waist pocket for this. On a related note, Nintendo
has announced the Wii Fit Plus at E3. It has new games
