Tom, do you think you can take a look at this to see if it's a real failure?

I think it's intermittent (although should be fixed if it is) since my
rebuild [0] has built past the point of this failure.

Yeah… maybe we should set up a stress test to find it. I guess we can also
just assume since it hasn't failed carbon before it won't do that again.

Actually I just noticed that it was the tell-based protocol (with that
ClientBackedDataStore)
run of that test that failed. DistributedDataStoreIntegrationTest is
parameterized to run all the test cases twice - once with the existing
ask-based protocol and the second with the new tell-based protoco
While there is an issue in the test class that was introduced by the
recent parameterization,
it turns out the failure has also revealed a bug in the production code
that has actually existed for a couple releases. I created

This is the error. My guess is a timing issue. Others?

Most likely timing issue in the test. This was added pretty recently by

If we're seeing timing issues with tests, we should either fix them
relatively quickly and/or flag them with @Ignore so that they don't block
progress on building RCs.
Alternately, I'm trying to figure out if we can build with -DskipTests
first and then build with tests so that timing/sporadic fai

controller had one patch go in today [1]. Looks like maybe an IT just
needed to be udpated.

Hello controller-dev:
AR builds are failing on both carbon and nitrogen in controller. There has
been only one patch that has got merged recently.
Please confirm if this change could have potentially caused an issue.

Hello controller-dev,
We are seeing the following test failure for Carbon builds. Please confirm
if this needs to be fixed or an intermittent test failure.
Failed tests:
EntityOwnershipShardTest.testOwnerChangesOnPeerAvailabilityChanges:647->AbstractEntityOwnershipTest.verifyRaftState:275->lambd
