Just tried kernel-2.4.22.9mdk-1-1mdk (I read about updated alsa modules from
cvs, including via82xx) and alsamixer still refuses to load, with the same error
message

Rebuilding alsa-utils-0.9.6-2mdk.src.rpm against kernel-source-2.4.22.7mdk does
not fix the problem.

This package didn't install by default in beta2, I don't know about RC1 / RC2...
