While attempting to install mdk 8.0 or 7.2, the install fails (while
installing packages, usually) with the message "No HDlists found". If I
hammer at the drive with subsequent upgrade attempts, I can finally get

Well, I don't happen to be a Perl user (yet), but isn't Python a
compiled and object-oriented version of Perl? Correct me if I am wrong.
As such, its niche is also understandable, and desireable.
