When will this be available for purchase on a CD in the US? I gave up on
trying to get it working through the download process!

I did a download of Casini and the whole directory structure and made boot
disks and I never got any "grapical install" option. Also with the hard disk
install, it can't find any packages or RPMS. So I cannot install. Known
bugs? How do I get this to install?

As long as it's not Kaffe and it's the real thing from Sun. I need that to
justify doing Java development on Linux.

One of the things I want to do a lot of with Mandrake Linux is Java
programming. This month's Linux Gazette talks about using the JDK 1.2
pre-release and there is a full Sun JDK 1.7 for Linux. I think those should
be used instead of Kaffe. I want to use the offical stuff.

If I install the RPM for the new Kernel 2.2.11, it won't boot because the
System.map link does not get updated? Is this a consequence of me installing
the packages one by one or a bug? In other words, if I was doing a "real"
install of 6.1b or Cooker, the install would take car
I agree. It would be a big win for you to have X 3.3.5 and KDE 1.2. You
would be ahead of other distributions.

Yesterday, on the Boston miror, I found a directory, 6.1b. Is this

system with all of the dependecies? For instance,

I've tried this over and over and someone from Mandrake has been helping me.
We have a firewall with a Microsoft Proxy Server and I can't get it through

No I don't have a DSL line. What is cooker.tar? The whole site? Where is it?
Also, how do I put it on my system. My Mandrake system boots automatically
into KDE. How do I make these updates? Or do I install all over? I'm really
confused.

I can't get the cooker stuff going at all. It won't go through the firewall.
So yes, I download stuff on NT with BPFTP and then transfer it to Linux. But
I don't get everything. I wish I could get the mirror to work.
