I've tried several times this week to install 7.1 from the network
(about 6-7 times). I'm not willing to try again until some stuff gets
fixed, anyway here are a few tips to improve it:
During the package selection process I got several "An error as occured:

I'm installing 7.1 (not cooker) from the network. I came accross a bug
while doing a custom install, a "fatal error, division by zero". I tried
again with Automated install and it works fine so far. Sorry I don't
have more details, just to let you know in case you can quickly fix
something
I'm still installing 7.1 from the network. After installing all packages
I get to "Configure timezone" with the following error: "cannot list the
available zoneinfos". The console says "cd: can't cd to
/mnt/usr/share/zoneinfo" .. and well, it's true I don't have that file.

I'm trying to install Cooker from the network. The process goes smoothly
until I reach the beginning of "Choose packages to install":
I get the following error box:
An error occured

I just installed the beta on a box with two HD, and UDMA 66 and an ATA 66.
I was expecting this new version to recognize the ATA as stated in the
changelog for 7.1 But it doesn't show up. Can anyone give me directions for
ATA support? Links, howtos etc.?
thanks

BTW: is this list the right place to post general post-installation
configuration issues?
for example: the modem doesn't work straight out of the box. It works if
you use kppp, but gnome-ppp which launches pppd as a user doesn't. from
/var/log/messages it seems my /dev/modem link doesn't have
