Hi,
I use passwordless login in kdm for a couple accounts on my system. This
used to work great in KDE 3.1.4 but it has stopped working in KDE 3.2 beta.
Getting a fresh config file and making my customizations over that didn't
cure it. I'm not sure if this is a packaging issue, something tha
I've had a problem with printing from KDE on my Cooker machine for a while
now, but finally decided to inquire about it when I noticed I was still
having it in 3.1.93: when I print from an application like KMail, KWrite or
KOffice, everything is fine except that the spacing between letters is m

I create a new user, so I don't think it has to do with a config file.
Anyone else seeing this?

Hi,
I'm having a problem with the current PyQt package in contrib. After I

plete, that's when I went snooping.
It would be nice of XFDrak made a backup of the 'old' file before it
overwritten it.
Andy
- it missed the Screen section
out.
3. Linuxconf - restarting the network config, it is getting the wrong
command - appears to be a { appearing before the commaned (e.g {start
instead of start).

Possible solution:
http://islay.dyndns.org/taz/index.html
t any newer build of *any* linux I have tried
will not even start to install.
Is this chipset not supported in the current kernels or has something been
missed by accident??
Found a couple of others having the same trouble installed Mdk 8.2 on this
chipset too in the newsgroups.
Help! :)
Andy
.
Either way, Mdk 8.1 enumerates the PCI devices perfectly happily, but
8.2 and cooker don't.

More info.
Problem appears to be Cooker doesn't recognise or load the PCI bus at
all.
Attached is a cat /proc/pci on a Mdk 8.1 build running on the machine.

Can anyone give me any pointers too look for? Any extra information I

...well that message is dated 16th March..hopefully being August 4th

floored that th
...a 372 is not a 370, and regardless of what a 370's compatibility is
with mandrake the 372 has it's own issue apparently..it appears
9.0b1 will do so far what 8.2 wouldn't, and that is detect drives on
hpt372 w/o kernel-panic.but, it's not allowing setting up partitions
because it's not
hat is preventing writing to
drives on hpt372 controller.
Note, i am not attempting to use raid functions, i just want to use
these two extra drive connectors found on the hpt372 as normal
independent hdd's.
So, what is the status of hpt 372/374 support in 9.0, is it being
addressed??
Thx for any help.
Andy.
Webmin still says Mandrake 8.2 along the top.

Strange :(
Local mirrored from sunsite.uio.no, just checked its all up to date, and
still no go.
Can you guys give some information on what sort of network / system
config that you are hooked up to?
(e.g DNS / DHCP / etc)
Andy
which mirror / site
did you use to get the cooker build from?

I see the correct initialisation and scanning of the SCSI controller, a
few lines about usbdevfs and a usb hub being registered (interesting, as
they are disabled on this machine).
Then that's it.
Andy
ave tried burn't ISO's and loading the ISO into VMWare (VMWare
emulates the iso as an actual drive).
Odd - never had problems installing Mandrake 8.2 this way.
I'm just recreating the iso's off the current mirror contents and will
let you know.
Andy

Well, the 'Shuttle' devices only have two PCI slots, both of which are empty
on my machine.
Not sure if the Onboard sound and NIC are 'PCI' devices...
