I updated my XFree86-server package as mentioned in the thread for bug 2741 and the
KDM
lockup problem is fixed.
But random lockup still persists using DRI and

yes, bug still exists with kernel-2.4.21-13mdk, XFree86-4.3-5, latest kde as of
3/13/03 in
cooker. KDM doesn't work with DRI.

It is NOT a KDE/KDM bug, although the title seems to indicate that.
I think ( in fact I'm pretty sure) that the problem is in DRI compatibility between
the kernel

this may also be a problem is Xfree86 ( I have upgraded to latest cooker 4.3) or in
the kernel
drm modules ( latest 2.4.21-0.11mdk).
