Hi
I tried to launche klyx and only got its new 'blinking cursor icon' and then
nothing.
I straced klyx and searched for '= -1' and got two 'missing' files.
/etc/ld.so.preload -> does not exist
/usr/share/locale/en/LC_MESSAGES/libc.mo -> is situated at /en_GB/.
regards
guran
I wish to thanks the packager of Klyx that had to hear from me 20 times
before 8.0, but I received some compliment from some people for his works, so
I turn him many thanks from many teachers and students! ;o)

Hello,
I'm happy for the work made on klyx that now really usable, but someone
should put icons instead of "?" in some menu entries on the klyx's panel.
Thanks, Claudio

Well, klyx is almost PERFECT now.
The zoom factor is correct and almost all the simbols are ok, but two menus
still show "?" instead of simbols. They are the 6th and 7th (delimiter and
decoration). Same problem for "save" icon. Come one, last recompilation
maybe! ;o))

Well...
Klyx is "almost" usable. Just few other retouches:
1- Still some "?" in menus, but just two or three
2- The "zoom factor" is setted to 150, while a value of 5-6 should be the
default.
Really thanks!

Is still unusable in Mandrake 8 beta 2. Anyone had corrected that in new
cookers?
Toolbar icons aren't present(math icons, for example, doesn't exists and in
the apposite menu appear a "?" simbol).
The var "font zoom" default is setted to 150, and that is too large to be
viewed in the screen. A

when you opened klyx did you go to screen options and make sure the zoom
factor is not a huge number? delete any number that is there if it is
huge

Well, like Greg, I am not able no open any document with klyx, if I try to
edit a "new" one, it's impossible for no char is shown, and no simbol (I
mean: maths simbols!) is shown, just QUESTION MARK: "" everywhere. I

just tried Klyx and it is so slow compared to Lyx
see messages like QObject: 49 timers now exist for object

when I tried to open a lyx doc I could see anything. Turns out the
screen options font zoom is set to 150 for iso8859-1. You don't even
get one character on the screen

A while back I too made an attempt to use klyx and was sent a good
reason why not to use it as it had a problem. Unfortunately, I do not
recall what the reason was. I have been using Lyx for a will and it is
done what I want but I just did discover a problem. I did a couple of

Hello
I was wondering what is now Klyx useful for... it was a wonderful
latex-scientific editor, in all other Mandrake's releases but now it only
opens the interface, and even don't let me use the keyboard. With the mouse,
just that horrible "?" icons that are becoming my nightmare...
Is it just me, or are the symbol icons in the symbol drop-down menues in
klyx missing for L7.2?

I've been playing aroudn with cooker for a while now, and this is what
I've found so far (apart from all the excellent things that work of

The Xemacs toolbar contains blank buttons.
Klyx uses HUGE fonts (one page tall!) - even using "tiny" they're 1/3 of a
page tall.
