works like a simple edit

This isn't for you Fabrice, I'm just gonna vent a bit here :)

I have to say I like nano (which works like pico). I
also love mc. The only issue I have with mc is that it
does not utilize the general linux way of copy and
paste (or shall I say highlight and middle click).
This can be quite annoying at times. I also wish that
I could get to a file faster with

In Win 3.1/95/98/NT3.51/NT4 _everything_ can be done with keyboard. At
laeast I know no application that is part of these OSes that has
controls inaccessible by keyboard-only. I admit I had trobles with Win2k
WinME management tools. But

What he is talking about is that those coming to linux
from the windows world, who know the windows default
keystrokes, would like a text editor that they could
just use without having to figure out new keystrokes.
I too like pico, but wish it could be seperated from
pine. It would be nice to have

I agree, I also don't like joe. However, jpico is quite nice. It's joe
emulating pico. When

that one of the big obstacle is the difficulty to edit a very simple
text config file.
Very often, people are booting windows to come asking for help and it is
quite hard to explain how they will have to use vi after r
