Hello Charles,
Also missing is an rpm called postgresql-lib that postgresql-devel
wants.
If you go look into usr/libs you will see broken symlinks of
libpq.so - libpq.so.2.1
libpq++.so - libpq++.so.3.1
I assume these are provided by postgresql-lib?

postgresql-docs package installs postgresql manual in

1) Who needs documentations sources (sgml) ?
2) Why not install html doc directly in /usr/share/doc/postgresql-docs, as
for apache-manual package ?

I would keep an eye on the unsupported branch of the mirrors. This is
usually where non-security related updates show up. (They are also the
basis for MandrakeFreq IIRC.)

Hi,
upgrading the setup package results in deleting the postgres user, because
the uid is 40 and the user is not mentioned in base-passwd/passwd.master.
It's no fun to add the user everytime setup is upgraded ;)
Can you fix this ?
(Info : cooker, postgresql-7.0.3-8mdk, setup-2.1.9-39mdk

in %build need: ./configure ... --with-template=linux-sparc (this is
for arch sparc and sparc64)
and must require XFree86-devel.

I use connect parameters like the following:
jdbc.driver=postgresql.Driver

you must ensure that nobody (or your webserver uid) has access to the
database; Pg does not use login names and passwords but authenticates
according to the owner
