If the PDC20276 is your secondary IDE controller, do an install to a disk on you primary controller with the PDC20276 disabled in BIOS (may not be necessary). Recompile the kernel with CONFIG_PDC202XX_FORCE=y. Once you can boot with a kernel compiled with this option, you will be able to enable
