Hi,
I noticed that there's an updated Squid Proxy Server
(squid-2.5STABLE3-3mdk.i586.rpm) in the cooker on October 21, 2003. However
this not updated to the latest as from
http://www.squid-cache.org/Versions/v2/2.5/. I was wondering are there plans

Hi,
I noticed in 9.2RC2 the version for Squid is
squid-2.5.STABLE3-2mdk.i586.rpm. However, the latest STABLE from
www.squid-cache.org is squid-2.5STABLE4. It fixes many bugs (includes a
better implementation of NTLM with Samba). I was wondering if it's possible
for the version to make it into 9.2

Hi,
The latest squid-2.5.STABLE3 from http://www.squid-cache.org/ allows users
to tied authentication with winbind for selective usergroups to access the
web. This can be compiled
with --enable-external-acl-helpers="winbind_group". Unfortunately this not

It was just released as a security update for Mandrake
stable versions. Will it appear in Cooker soon? I
find it strange that it's not there already, same with
some of the other security updates. As I recall
during the 8.2 Cooker cycle updates would be there
before they would be released for 8.

The current version of squid still ocasionally goes crazy and sends my
cpu usage to 100%. This is without even using it it's just running in
the background. Oh and on shutdown squid will not shut down it has to be
exited abnormally. That is durring a system shutdown or reboot.

Whatever. By the way - there is no /etc/squid.conf - it's under
/etc/squid/squid.conf
And I still believe that after a fresh install, this step shouldn't be
necessary (it'll throw new users for a loop)
Thx anyway.

The problem is - during a fresh install, a hostname is asked. Because I
am on a local network without my own DNS, I put a bogus domain name in.
Previously this worked without a problem and squid was happy (as was all
other services like apache)

About two or three weeks ago, I reported that squid is broken, because
setup doesn't supply a "nogroup" group.
When will this be fixed?

Hi!
I've upgraded my squid package to the 2.4 package which was recently
released by Mandrake.
Since then, I'm unable to access the net thru the squid proxy.
Could somebody please check if it's working? And please also tell me how
you modified the /etc/squid/squid.conf file.
Thanks,
Alexande
