I put the cooker Xemacs (21.4.0) rpms on a stock Mandrake 8.0 box, and the xemacs-gtk and xemacs-gtk-gnome versions of the binary are essentially unusable. Clicking on a menu takes easily 20-30 seconds to start it. It may be that it's a conflict between old 8.0 gnome libraries and the new ones in
