Please create a usb group corresponding to the group ID 43. It would
help the users of digital cameras, because they need to belong to that
group 43 to have access, as users, to their digital camera.

My SB Live sound card is detected, but wrong modules are loaded at boot.
/etc/modules.conf contained after install :
alias sound-slot-0 snd-cmipci
which is wrong.
Should be :
alias sound-slot-0 snd-emu10k1

That mouse is correctly detected at install, but is not working at boot.
The /dev/usbmouse symbolic link is correctly created at boot, but it has
not target. It points to dev/input/mouse0, but this file is missing. I

It's slow , but everything works so far, even the cheap sound card in

foomatics, cups a.s.o. and installed the apropiate printers with pri

Mandrake-release-8.1-0.6mdk (if mem serves) was a prob for it in

I believe there is some sort of problem with GRUB. I run on a 350mhz AMD
chip and IDE enhanced drives. No SCSI this time. Just SCSI scanner. I

Ok, I took the plunge and tried to upgrade my main (non-server devel
machine) Mandrake 7.0 machine to 7.1. The upgrade system still has a long
way to go... it was 4x as long as an install! Anyways, here are a few
install issues with the upgrade:
