If someone was not on the list for a while may not know how to this, after all the missed the instructions to do this last time dev and MAKEDEV was updated. I was just trying to be helpful. Just because someone uses cooker does not make them an expert at everything. and yes the line with append

add these lines to your /etc/lilo.conf file then run lilo then boot with line linux-nodevfs image=/boot/vmlinuz label=linux-nodevfs root=/dev/hda8 initrd=/boot/initrd.img append=" devfs=nomount " vga=788 read-only upgrade then reboot the standard

Hi Cooker folks, I'm running the full Cooker except for urpmi always wants to install new dev and MAKEDEV packages -- these can never be installed because they complain about devfs being used. Any way to get these packages installed besides installing Cooker again from scratch? Going to init 1 a
