Yes.
The best way to to that would be an extension to chkfontpath, does
RedHat 8.0 already have that?

Yeah, except that it doesn't seem to work as well, a font dir I had working
before now causes X death, when added to fonts.conf.

!!! When do we get that nice Xft2 / GTK2 build of Mozilla, Frederic? =)
I'm waiting for Mozilla 1.2 to be released (end of this week or next week)
before activating xft and GTK2 in mozilla package..
Cool :). Will Galeon go to 1.3.0 then,
You said you had 2300 fonts in your ttf directory?

2600 actually - I've got the windows font's I imported by hand into
drakfont/ttf - they work fine.
I imported about 2600 from a CD into /usr/local/share/fonts/ttf (ran ttmkfdir
and mkfontdir, etc.) they were working before.

fontconfig would probably suck a little less if there were docs other than API
docs. Anyone know where to find any so I can get some ttf fonts working?

We've been playing with this for about a 3-4 weeks now.
Here's some screenshots I recently posted last week.

Ok - seems actually that it's my added font's dir that I got off a 3rd party
CD. I've got about 2600 fonts that I used before that now if I add to the
config for fonts.conf breaks X.
