Can anyone help me in configuring
wu-ftpd to allow anonymous uploads in LM 8.0 beta 3?
I thought I would ask here
first. Here is what I have for my /etc/xinet.d/wu-ftpd

xinetd has nothing to do with it.
/etc/ftpaccess does.
Unfortunatly, the stock /etc/ftpaccess file is usually a bad one to use.
You need to find the example ftpaccess file that comes with wu-ftpd. Look
for a file called "ftpaccess.heavy".

I just thought I'd see if there was an upgrade planned for wu-ftpd,
following the recent exploit that's all over BugTraq. Most of the other
distros have responded, including Red Hat, but I haven't heard anything yet
from the Mandrake front.

If you don't want to drop out wu-ftpd, please correct these errors :
* add the correct line in /etc/ftpaccess for permitting anonymous access.
* add /home/ftp and /home/ftp/bin/ls /home/ftp/lib/lib[c,termcap] for
permitting anonymous navigation.
Thanks.

Hi Folks,
I thought I'd let you know that Geoffrey Lee fixed up this package
so it'll build as root...
src.rpm of the package can be found in /incoming
Name: wu-ftpd Relocations: (not
relocateable)
Version : 2.6.0 Vendor: (none)
I've just put wu-ftpd 2.6.0 [pre2] in Cooker.
Please test this package thoroughly and let me know of any problems...
Unless any major bugs turn up, we'll release it by Friday... [Speaking for
the wu-ftpd development group here, not for Mandrake]

So then I assume kBeroFTPD will continue to be available and is supposed to work
with wu-ftpd-2.60 as well?
Sure - it'll be renamed to kwu-ftpd or something soon, and it's part of
KDE 2.0.
