I have this problem with a Microstar Pro266 mobo (or something, pIII
mobo). It does not click, it just sits there when ACPI is enabled.
With APM it works

Sure? These kernels are all SMP kernels which means APM is disabled by
default == no software power down. Have you forced AP

Yes. Windows is using ACPI for a long time already. Linux does not
(reliably).
