n KBytes right??? so 3 means 30 MegaBytes???
i'm on a stock standard install kernel. are quotas in the standard kernel???
do i need to recompile with quota support???

Yes this is true - if no CD in drive when software manager is run then DEATH!

our scsi drive and Y the partition. scsi drive is a letter (a,b,c...) partition is a number (1,2,3..) - well you know what numbers are right. "pdisk" can tell you what these are if you don't know.
