On my iMac, I have to adjust the "speaker" volume, not the master "vol"
control.

You probably can't get CTRL-C or CTRL-Z to work from that user's shell
either, can you?
Run "exec bash" and it fixes it. You don't always need to do this, but it
always fixes it when you do.

Did for me. You don't need all the RPMs, so choose them carefully.

I finally managed to cobble together a working, accelerated X
configuration for my iMac DV. I had to upgrade to XFree 4.1.0, but dear
lord, it's FAST. I'm in love with this distro, now.

Are ReiserFS and/or ext3 stable for PPC? If so, has anyone got
recommendations for the best way to get them installed on Mandrake/PPC? I
just kicked the plug out of my iMac, and had to suffer the wait through a
fsck. :)

I just got the ISOs for Mandrake 8.0/PPC installed on my iMac, and I'm
having some difficulty.
If I log in as a regular user, I can't use CTRL-C or CTRL-Z to
kill/suspend jobs. It's as if the control characters are being ignored. If
