Hi everyone: Ok, so I'm looking for good recipes to freeze, soups, casseroles, etc. I'm going to be going through a surgery and a couple other things are going on that I need to make some things ahead, because I don't want to end up eating out all the time. Can anyone help? Thanks. Joy and

Hi, Joy, If you want to freeze stew, my experience has been that potatoes don't freeze well; they become mushy. Mashed potatoes will freeze, on something like Shepherd's pie. But if you want to freeze stew, I would suggest omitting the potatoes and adding them later. Macaroni and cheese,

As far as rice in the oven goes, put the rice in a greased casserole, add twice as much boiling water as you have rice, cover the casserole and bake it for 35 minutes. I usually dissolve a bouillon cube in the boiling water. Works great, especially if you're baking chicken or other meat.
