Hi everyone:
Ok, so I'm looking for good recipes to freeze, soups, casseroles, etc. I'm
going to be going through a surgery and a couple other things are going on
that I need to make some things ahead, because I don't want to end up eating
out all the time. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Have had trouble with pasta getting sticky and a bit mushy when reheated
from freezer. Does lasagna do this as well? Or can you just not cook it
quite all the way? Love lasagna! Thanks.

Hi, Joy,
If you want to freeze stew, my experience has been that potatoes don't freeze
well; they become mushy. Mashed potatoes will freeze, on something like
Shepherd's pie. But if you want to freeze stew, I would suggest omitting the
potatoes and adding them later.

If you're a baker, or if you want a breakfast type food, or a snack, muffins
and quick breads freeze well too.

Hi all, can any one tell me two things.
1. can long grain rice be made in a slow cooker or crockpot? If so how?
2. Can long grain rice be baked in an oven? if so how? I'm using 1 cup
rice so if I'm right I'd need 2 cups water is this right?
thanks in advance.

As far as rice in the oven goes, put the rice in a greased
casserole, add twice as much boiling water as you have rice,
cover the casserole and bake it for 35 minutes. I usually
dissolve a bouillon cube in the boiling water. Works great,
especially if you're baking chicken or other meat.

Since we're talking about red lentils, here's a recipe I got from
Sustainable Works. I made it for Christmas Eve a few years back for my
son's vegetarian girlfriend. It calls for Worcestershire sauce.
There is a vegetarian version. Lee Perrin use anchovies.

The date on this, Cheryl, looks to be from December 2009. Or did I
misread the date? It would be wonderful if it's still a valid offer.
